Director, Writer, Producer:
Independent documentary filmmaker Susan Marks made her first film, The Betty Mystique (2006) about branding icon, Betty Crocker. She also wrote a master’s thesis and a book (Finding Betty Crocker) on the same topic. Now that she’s had her fill of baked goods, Susan has currently taken up with the dark side, producing, writing and directing the documentary film, Our Wildest Dreams: A True Crime Documentary of Dolls & Murder. Also, Susan is trying her hand at screenwriting, with one under her belt and another on the way.
Producer, Editor, Music Supervisor:
Director, producer and editor John Dehn is co-owner of Blue Moon Productions, creating over 20 years of multi-media productions in the independent, corporate, non-profit, and broadcast realms. He is also musician and songwriter. John partners with Susan Marks on many video productions, including editing The Betty Mystique. He is currently co-producing the independent documentary film, Our Wildest Dreams: A True Crime Documentary of Dolls & Murder.
Director of Photography:
Matt Ehling is a prolific, award-winning independent documentary filmmaker based out of Minneapolis and New York. Many of his films are broadcast on PBS and screen at film festivals around the globe. Two of Matt’s more recent films, Urban Warrior and Security and the Constitution have garnered national recognition while sparking dialogue about the complex issues surrounding personal rights and national security. Recently, he won the grand prize in the Minnesota Historical Society’s Greatest Generation documentary film contest for Coming Home, an extraordinary film about his grandfather and World War Two.
Sound Designer:
Carly Zuckweiler graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Music degree in Recording Technology. She is currently working as an audio engineer and sound designer at HDMG, a video post-production house in Eden Prairie, MN. She has worked with a broad spectrum of clients including Cargill, Regis, Best Buy, Target, and Honeywell. She also mixed audio for the feature documentary Green Green Water, targeted to have its broadcast premiere in late 2007. With almost two years of experience at HDMG, she is looking forward to future collaborations with the Twin Cities community and beyond.
